"A dream come true!"

About Mynd Art and MeHaving taught in Primary schools for many years and having a passion for art activities I started running art workshops in primary schools. These proved very successful and I made a lot of contacts with local artists.

So when the toy shop came available I decided it was time to take on a new challenge! I joined the Opening Doors project run by Women in Rural Enterprise ,WIRE which helps with setting up and running a business. There are so many things to think about when starting a business and the team really helped me to prioritise, focus and motivated and guided me.

I decided I wanted to sell top quality wooden toys and educational kits from a variety of specialist suppliers which appeal to all ages and especially adults who remember them from their childhood!!

With my passion for art I want to provide the many local artists with their art materials and I am building up that side of the business with the support from art groups.

Another important aspect is showcasing work by local artists, there is so much talent to be enjoyed and shared.

To keep me busy all day I offer a bespoke picture framing service to the local community and can advise on how best to frame that precious piece, be it a photo or child’s painting. Framing is carried out on the premises.
